Here's the knots I use most and when....
Also called - Tucked Half Blood knot. Improved Clinch Knot.
One of the most common knots for attaching line to hooks and swivels.
Good used with mono line.Probably my most common and recommended for general use.
I tend to use this with braid, as its apparently better than the Half Blood. Very strong.
Also called - Surgeonds Loop / Double Overhand Loop.
Good for creating a loop in the end of a line.
I use this a lot at the end of my line to attach lead core to for carp fishing.
I use this when Im carp fishing, to create a 'hair' on the back of the hook to mount baits.
Offshore Swivel Knot.
Heres One Ive found but not tried. Sounds clever and look simple and reliable though !

An old but by all accounts very strong knot for hooks, swivels and most terminal tackle.
